Consensus to Action: Advocacy

In November 2015, a group of nongovernmental organizations, professional associations, and donors launched the Global Consensus Statement for expanding contraceptive choice for adolescents and youth to include long-acting reversible contraceptive methods (LARCs). In addition to being a resource for anyone who needs information on the safety and efficacy of LARCs, the consensus statement is also an advocacy tool. This brief provides recommendations about how different groups—policymakers, youth, service providers, program designers, and researchers—can be involved in advocacy toward expanding contraceptive choice for youth to include LARCs.
