Examining progress and planning for future investments in evidence-based AYSRH practices (West Africa regional meeting)

May 9, 2017 – May 11, 2017

During this meeting, the senior ministry of health officials from the nine Ouagadougou Partnership countries worked together with youth leaders and NGO representatives to examine their Costed Implementation Plans for Family Planning to see how more lucrative investments can be made in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH). The three-day meeting included: a pre-meeting workshop where youth from the nine countries were prepared to deliberate with decision-makers; panel presentations on evidence-based practices and current AYSRH interventions implemented in the nine countries; and working sessions among teams from the nine countries that allowed them to examine the national strategic plan.  The meeting was co-hosted by Pathfinder, E2A, and the Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit. A small team from the DRC attended the May meeting to learn how to adapt the meeting in their own country.
