Examining progress and planning for future investments in evidence-based AYSRH practices (DRC)
During this meeting, senior ministry of health officials will work together with youth leaders and NGO representatives to examine DRC’s national strategic plan for family planning to see how more lucrative investments can be made in adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH). The three-day meeting will include: a pre-meeting workshop where youth from Kinshasa and three DRC provinces where E2A supports a community-based family planning program will be prepared to deliberate with decision-makers; panel presentations on evidence-based practices and current AYSRH interventions implemented in DRC; and working sessions among teams from the three provinces that will allow them to examine the national strategic plan.
The meeting adapts the format instituted at a regional Francophone West Africa meeting in Ouagadougou, May 9-11, 2017, on AYSRH, which was co-hosted by Pathfinder, E2A, and the Ouagadougou Partnership Coordination Unit. A small team from the DRC attended the May meeting to learn how to adapt the meeting in their own country.
