Ilayda Oranköy, Communications Coordinator, E2A

To provide support to the communications department and assist in the production of E2A’s publications, Ilayda leverages her B.A. in Journalism and Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies.

Prior to joining E2A, Ilayda served as the publications, communications, and marketing intern at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, where she drafted press releases, archived news coverage, helped organize nation-wide events, and created content for the Broad Strokes blog. Ilayda has also worked as a freelance writer and editor, research assistant, and English tutor for ESL adult learners.

Ilayda graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 2018. She is fluent in English and Mandarin, and has some experience Spanish, Turkish, and Russian.

When asked what E2A insight, resource, or result excites her the most, Ilayda says:

Not Without Us! A Tool for AYRH-Responsive Planning (TARP) offers more than just a means of evaluating the extent to which a country’s reproductive health plans meet the needs of young people. TARP provides youth advocates with the knowledge and evidence they need to advocate with their governments for their own reproductive lives—and the reproductive lives of future generations.”
